Websites for cleaners and cleaning businesses

Before they give you a key, they check.

Website design for cleaning businesses, from a solo cleaner to a small team: your prices, the areas you cover, your insurance and checks, and a quick way to get a quote. From £180 a year, live in 7 days.

Example: Spruce, home cleaning in Epsom. Made up for this page.

What your website needs to do.

Prices and minimum hours

Your hourly rate and minimum visit, plus fixed prices for deep cleans and end of tenancy. It cuts down the “how much?” messages and the time-wasters.

A quick quote

Bedrooms, bathrooms and how often, then a price or a range. People like to know roughly what it’ll cost before they message you.

Insurance and checks, as plain facts

Your public liability cover and a basic DBS check with the month it was issued. Say “basic DBS check”, because that’s what it is.

Products: yours or theirs

Say whether you bring your own products and vacuum or use the customer’s. People ask, and some prefer one or the other.

The areas you cover

Towns and postcodes by name, with no home address on show. Do the same on your Google profile and I’ll link it to your site.

When you can take new clients

A line like “new clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays”, which you change by texting me.

What people check before they book.

Most of your customers will hear about you first, then look you up. These are the things they look for.

Rules worth knowing.

Not legal advice, just the things that change what your website should say. Each one links to the official source.

Say which DBS check you have

A basic DBS check costs £20 from GOV.UK and anyone 16 or over can apply. It shows unspent convictions only, so call it a basic check on your site.

Taking rubbish away needs registering

If you take away rubbish from end-of-tenancy or after-builders cleans, that’s other people’s waste, which needs an upper tier waste carrier registration. Show the number on your site, because customers can be fined for using someone who isn’t registered.

Real reviews only

Since April 2025 it’s against the law to publish fake reviews, or to pick and choose reviews in a way that misleads. Show real ones and link to where they came from.

Employers’ liability once you take on staff

Public liability isn’t a legal must for a solo cleaner, but employers’ liability insurance is required as soon as you employ someone.

Most cleaners start with one page.

A solo cleaner usually only needs one page: prices, areas, your checks and a way to ask for a quote. A small team with regular, deep and end-of-tenancy cleans fits four pages, one for each.

Questions cleaners ask me

Do I need a website for my cleaning business?

Not always. Most work comes from recommendations and local Facebook groups. The site is what people check after they hear your name, and the link you post. One page is often enough.

How do I get cleaning clients quickly?

Referrals from the clients you have, local Facebook groups, Nextdoor and leaflets. A website makes each of those work harder because people have somewhere to check you out, but it won’t bring clients on its own.

Should I put my prices on my website?

Yes: an hourly rate with your minimum hours, or “from” prices. It cuts out people who were never going to book. Say that there’s no VAT to add if you’re not registered.

Do I need a DBS check to clean houses?

There’s no legal requirement for domestic cleaning, but plenty of clients ask. A basic check is £20 from GOV.UK. Say it’s a basic check, and the month it was issued.

What insurance should I show?

Your public liability cover, usually £1m, £2m or £5m. It isn’t a legal must when you work alone, but clients expect it. Employers’ liability becomes a legal requirement once you employ someone.

Can I put my Google and Facebook reviews on the site?

Yes, real ones, with a link to where they came from. Fake or cherry-picked reviews are against the law since April 2025.

I work on my own. Isn’t a website a lot of money?

That’s what the one-page plan is for: £180 a year, which is about nine hours of cleaning at £20 an hour.

How much does it cost?

From £180 a year for one page, or £59 a month for four pages. Nothing to pay until it’s live, and no VAT to add.
