Privacy Policy

Surrey Web Masters is me, Nikita Vorontsov. I decide what happens to the information you send me, which makes me the “controller” under UK data protection law. If you have a question about any of this, email contact@surreywebmasters.co.uk or call 07478 283838.

What I collect

• If you use the contact form: your name, your phone number or email, what you do, your message, and the page you came from. The form doesn’t ask for anything else.
• If you WhatsApp, call or email me: what you send, and your number or email address.
• If you become a client: what I need to build and run your website, and the details on your invoices.
• When you visit the site: a count of visits and the buttons people press, through Plausible Analytics. It doesn’t identify you (see below).

Why I use it

• To reply to you. You asked me to, so I rely on legitimate interests.
• To build and run your website, because we have a contract.
• To keep invoices and tax records, because the law requires it.
• To see which pages are useful, using visit counts that don’t identify anyone. That’s legitimate interests too.

I don’t send marketing emails, I don’t sell or share your details, and I don’t use them to show you adverts.

Who else handles it

These companies handle information for me. Each link goes to their own privacy policy.

• Brevo, in France, sends contact form messages to my inbox.
• Vercel hosts this website. Like any web host, its servers see your IP address and keep technical logs for a short time to run and protect the site. Vercel is based in the United States, so this information may leave the UK.
• Plausible Analytics, hosted in the EU, counts visits. It never stores your IP address, and it doesn’t use cookies or your browser’s storage.
• WhatsApp, if you message me there. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy covers those messages.
• My business email provider stores the emails you send me and the contact form messages Brevo delivers.

Cookies

This site doesn’t set any cookies or save anything in your browser, and neither does Plausible. That’s why there’s no cookie banner.

How long I keep it

• Enquiries: I don’t keep a list or database of them. Your message stays in my inbox or on WhatsApp, and I only use it to reply to you. If you’d like it deleted, just ask.
• Client records and invoices: as long as HMRC requires me to keep them.
• Visit counts: Plausible keeps totals, such as how many people visited a page. Those don’t identify anyone.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, or ask me to correct it, delete it, stop using it, or send it to you or someone else. Email or call me and I’ll reply within a month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. I’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Changes

If I change how I handle information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
